The last 8 months have underlined the great struggle we face as Palestinians, just to exist.

Our arts and culture - and our cinema in particular - have long played a fundamental role in protecting our narrative and reflecting the Palestinian struggle over the past 76 years.

In the context of the current genocide and the ongoing war on the Palestinian identity and narrative, the Palestine Film Institute (PFI) highlights the importance of supporting Palestinian films and narratives in international forums.

In collaboration with Sheffield DocFest, the PFI presents four works-in-progress as part of the Palestine Showcase. This opportunity allows filmmakers and producers to showcase their feature-length documentary projects to decision-makers, festival programmers, co-producers and potential collaborators,  providing a platform for directors and producers to engage with the global film community, attend industry events and in the long term get their films made, and seen. These projects have been selected by an international jury, have received bespoke mentoring from PFI industry consultants and have been supported to access the festival through accreditation, accommodation and travel support.
