Palestine Pavilion X Algerian Pavilion Gestures of Solidarity Program

15:00-15:50
Film workers for Palestine, Unite!
Presented by Film Workers for Palestine, this workshop invites film workers to consider tangible ways to stand in solidarity with Palestine. How can we use our work and our labour as filmmakers to disrupt the complicity of the film industry with the Israeli apartheid state? We will hear about acts of refusal (including refusing to work with Israeli film festivals, or withholding work and labour from institutions that censor Palestinian voices) and think collectively about which areas of our professional landscape offer opportunities for negotiation, which areas require vigilance, and how to be creative with our refusal, in the contractual space and beyond.

16:00-16:50
Voices from Palestine, Panel with Palestinian Filmmakers at Cannes
Engage with the diverse and compelling narratives of Palestinian cinema through the perspectives of emerging voices whose work reflects on resilience, identity, and complex storytelling. This is a chance to discover how Palestinian filmmakers are thinking and responding at this time , as the sounds and images of a relentless genocide have been unfolding in every minute of the past 8 months.

17:00-17:15
Palestine Showcase award ceremony
For the 7th year, the Palestine Film Institute presents 4 Docs-in-Progress projects at Cannes Docs. This year, 2 prizes will be awarded to support the film projects with their productions; the awards are given by Watermelon Productions and Filmlab Palestine. Join us to celebrate the power of Palestinian narratives.
